I fell your pain man. Down here in Texas, we can buy fireworks but cant shoot them off. That is the craziest rule ever!!!
I went out of my way to pick up a bunch of sweet frieworks this year. I toke them over to my friends house only to find a firetruck creeping around the neighborhood, trying to bust people. I was real dissapointed, so I went down the street and shot off a whistling 100 gun salute (like 100 whistle bottle rockets going off at once), and then left.
At least I got one in. But now a got some sweet cannons jsut waitin to be launched. maybe I'll try them at the beach sometime. You seem to get away with more out there

Correction to previous comment:
100 gun ssalute should have been described as rockets going off in succession not at once
It lasted over a minute and i am sure the firemen really enjoyed it:)

That might be an even dumber law than ours. Why would they allow the sale of fireworks if you can't use them?!?

After a quick couple of web searches, I seemed to have found that texas does allow fireworks. Yet, I saw on the news all the fireworks they had seized here in the DFW area. And the firemen were certainley looking to bust people. So, I am inclined to think that it is just the counties or cities that I live in that dont allow the fireworks. I did drive about 45 min to purchase the fireworks, so I may have been out of the restriced area when i bought them, but were i wanted to shoot them off it may be illegal. oh well.
They need to just relax and let us enjoy our independence!!
